1. RABINDRA NATH TAGORE
Rabindranath was born at Jorasanko, Kolkata in 1861. He took his education mostly at home. He became famous for his poems and songs. 'Gitanjali' was a book of his poems and songs. It brought him the Nobel Prize in 1913. He also wrote essays, novels, short-stories and plays. He was a painter too. India and Bangladesh have accepted his two songs as their National Anthems. His great centre of education at Shantiniketan is his another deed of glory. This great lover of mankind passed away in 1941. Hei s still our greatest poet
2. NETAJI SUBHAS
Subhaschandra Bose was born in Orissa on January 23, 1897. He was a bright student, but a greater patriot. He wanted to free India. Then the British ruled India. The rulers were foreigners, so they had no right to rule India. They had no right to kill Indian heroes like Kshudiram Bose, Bagha Jatin, Bhagat Singh, Surya Sen and others. Subhaschandra left India in disguise. He left for Europe in 1941, and finally reached Japan. Here he led the Indian National Army as Netaji, against the British. Netaji said to the youth, "Give me blood, I will give you freedom." But we are yet in the dark about the last days of his heroic life.
